Why do they call it Monkey Bread?
There are several theories why this treat is called monkey bread.

Who invented monkey bread?
There is a lot of debate about who invented monkey bread, and there isn’t a clear answer.
One theory is that the Hungarians brought their coffee cake recipe over when they immigrated to America in the 1880s, and it has adapted over time into what it is today.
Another theory is that monkey bread originated in the 1940’s in Southern California as pieces of yeasted bread dough slathered in butter and baked in a pan. Since then, it has morphed and evolved into a wide variety of sweet and savory treats.
Silent movie actress ZaSu Pitts (who is known for her love of baking) is credited for giving monkey bread its claim to fame while raving about it in several interviews.
What can I use if I don’t have a bundt pan for monkey bread?
You can use any pan that contains the dough and allows for the dough to rise thoroughly. A 9×13 pan would work well, as well as a cake pan or loaf pan.
Keep in mind that changing out the pan may adjust the time required for baking.
What is monkey bread made of?
In its simplest form, monkey bread is made with yeasted dough, melted butter and whatever you add for flavorings cinnamon, and sugar in this recipe.

Open up your buttermilk biscuit cans and cut each of the biscuits into four wedges. I used a sharp knife and was able to cut through the whole stack of biscuits very easily so it was very quick to cut them.
Take each piece of dough and dip into the butter and then dip into the cinnamon-sugar mixture, rotating the dough until every side is covered in the cinnamon mixture.
Then, loosely place into the baking dish, making sure not to pack down any of the dough, or it won’t rise! A
