These Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars are ridiculously good! If you love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, then you HAVE to make these! The sweet peanut butter cookie base tastes just like the real deal, and is further enhanced by the creamy chocolate top layer. Added bonus? They are super easy to make!

This is a Crea Family recipe and is so loved that when my husband was a little boy he told his Grandma that he ONLY wanted these Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars for his Christmas present…. twice! (And he got it!)

Let’s get baking!

Supplies

  • Measuring cups, spoons, and measuring scale
  • 9×13 pan
  • Large bowl
  • Whisk
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Medium saucepan
  • Cooking spray

Alright, you ready to get started?! Let’s get baking!

Instructions on How to Make Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars

If you haven’t already crushed your graham crackers you will want to start with that step first. To break down the graham crackers into fine crumbs you can either place them in a plastic bag, remove the air and crush them with a rolling pin, or you can use a food processor.

Combine the graham crackers, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and butter together in a large bowl. While you can use a spoon, it is much easier to dig in with your hands to mix it all together. Once it’s thoroughly combined, pat into an even layer onto the bottom of a greased (I used cooking spray) 9×13 baking pan. Set aside.

Next, combine the granulated sugar, milk and butter into a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, maintain it for one minute before removing from heat.

Once the pan is removed from heat, add the chocolate chips and vanilla and mix together until smooth and creamy, and the chocolate is completely melted.

Carefully pour the chocolate onto the peanut butter layer. It will start to set really quickly. The skin on the top of the chocolate started to form immediately after pouring it..

Let it cool at room temperature or in the fridge for a few hours to let it set.

Super easy recipe for a seasoned baker. Tons of food allergies in the house, so we adjusted to accommodate and it was still delicious. And enough to share with friends.

Oh, no! I am sorry it didn’t turn out for you. This recipe has been in my husband’s family for at least 3 generations. It is definitely a sweet recipe, but very well-loved by our family.

The chocolate is to be added AFTER the pan is removed from the heat. You must have missed step 4 that called that out. However, I do apologize, I did miss the time to boil in the recipe card. I had it listed in the notes section above but it must have been missed when I made the recipe card. I did add it in so others don’t have the same problem!

Again, I am sorry it didn’t turn out for you. I know how frustrating it is when recipes flop!
